FORM 1. Application Form Bring the completed application to the audition. Possible conflicts need to be disclosed to the director at the time of the audition.

FORM 2. Payment Form All payments are made payable to IVYC, sent to the Treasurer and mailed to; IVYC, PO Box 805, Claremont, CA 91711-0805. You can also drop it in Mrs. O's mail slot into her house. Be sure to write the name and payment intent on the check. Credit Card now accepted.
For Choir Members only. Class members need not complete Form 3.
FORM 3. Acceptance and Commitment Contract This form along with the the current session payment is due no later than your first rehearsal. Contact the treasurer with any questions you may have.
Tuition is payable by cash, check, or charge (5% processing fee) in seasonal installments. It is pro-rated to the singer's starting season. The first installment is due by the first rehearsal. Remaining payments are then due on the first Tuesday of each new concert season or of the month, depending on how you have set up your account. Year-end reports are given. Their may be a discount offered if tuition is paid in full before the start of the 1st concert season. See the CHOIRS page for specific tuition information for each ensemble.
PLEASE NOTE: The IVYC is a registered non-profit 501(c)3 and gifts given above and beyond base tuition ARE tax-deductible. This includes donations of old concert attire, donations made at bake sales or auctions, and any donations given throughout the year; such as at concerts, but this all needs to be tracked either by retaining your cashier's receipt, or being able to track a check or credit card receipt. Therefore, write a check or use your CC so it can be used for your tax credit! If we fail for some reason to get your IVYC donation receipt to you by tax time, just remind us and we'll get it to you ASAP!
The IVYC is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of scholarships and is still accepting applications. Write or call for an application, or download one here in pdf. There is often a need for parent participation, and some form of participation is expected.
In order to fulfill our commitments we require additional funding from our supporters. To be a sponsor or to make a donation, please contact Aimee Nolte, our treasurer.
Rehearsals occur on Tuesdays in Claremont.
In order to perform in a concert, singers are allowed no more than two absences prior to that performance, only one of which may be unexcused. Three late arrivals equal an unexcused absence. Joint and final rehearsals, and all concerts are MANDATORY. Excused absences from rehearsals include illness, scheduling conflicts with immediate family, school, community service or religious responsibilities, when the Music Director has been given warming prior to that rehearsal.
The choirs perform concerts alone or combined with another performance ensemble. Solo IVYC concerts are always free to the public, donations are welcome see GIVING. Voice Class
and Preparatory recital attendance is also free of charge.Preparatory Choir: Will purchase the Polo Shirt from the IVYC for $12, and they will can order their NAVY BLUE skirt ($6.99) or pants ($11.99) from Marcus Uniforms.
Aprentice/Chamber Ladies: Apprentice Choir - Chorale Dress in red $85 and Chamber choir Dress - Chorale Dress in Indigo $85 are made locally by Luan of Miklan Design (909)450-7363, 307 S. Indian Hill Blvd., Claremont CA 91711. New shoes for the women run about $30. Shoes are black "Capezio Jr. Footlight" character shoes with 1.5 inch heel and can be purchased at Discount Dance and they have a store in Rancho as well. (We usually have a few pair of gently used shoes for sale - $10.)
Apprentice/Chamber Gentleman: Cavalier Pant, Classic Poplin Vest, and the Banded Manderin Collar Shirt (approx. $75 total) are ordered from Southeastern Apparel. Worn with black socks and dress shoes.
Professionally recorded concert CDs and DVDs are often available for $10-$25.

Founder and Director of the Inland Valley Youth Chorale, Jody holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, with a vocal emphasis, from Truman State University, Kirksville, Missouri. She received her K-12 music teaching certification from Central Missouri State University, where she was also a graduate student. She taught in public schools for over six years in Missouri, Vermont and New Hampshire, where she created award-winning music programs. Locally Jody led music for a year at Our Lady of the Assumption, and seven years as the Director of Music for Children and Youth at Claremont Presbyterian Church. She taught at the Webb Schools and the Claremont Community School of Music for three years, where she was the chair of the voice department for a year, she also taught K-5 music for two years at Foothill Country Day School. She now teaches private vocal and piano instruction from her home is expecting her third child. She is married to Michael and is the mother of two other wonderful children. In her spare time she loves reading, scrapbooking and performing with community musical theatre. Although musical theatre has been a relatively late addition to her musical career, she has enjoyed several lead roles. Most recently Jody performed in a show at the Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont and in a wonderful review with RCCT; "Side by Side by Sondheim" at Victoria Gardens. |
ABOUT THE ACCOMPANIST:
Accompanist and Board Secretary of the Inland Valley Youth Chorale, Barbara is a graduate of Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, with a Bachelor of Music degree in church music. She is married to Mark and has two children, Heather (now in College) and Chris (now in College as well). She loves working with children and is currently a Kindergarten teacher with the Ontario-Montclair School District. Barbara also accompanies the children and youth choirs at Claremont Presbyterian Church where she is a church member and is in the choir. Among her many activities at CPC she also assists her husband with the bell program there. She loves spending time with her family, attending the many musical theatre shows they are involved in, and baking; desserts being her specialty! |
