The Inland Valley Youth Chorale teaches and performs a wide range of music from great masterworks to folk songs, in a safe and nurturing environment. The Chorale enriches the musical lives of children and youth, ages 5-18 from all over the Inland Empire, while also teaching social skills, discipline, and community spirit.

The Inland Valley Youth Chorale is a registered non-profit 501(c)3 organization. It began as the Claremont Children's Chorale, founded in October of 2002. The Claremont Youth Chorale was then added in the 2005 school year in order to provide an ongoing choral experience for the singers graduating from the Children's Chorale. The IVYC was incorporated with its new name in 2006. The IVYC became a member of the Claremont Chamber of Commerce in Dec. of 2008.

The director, Jody Orrison, has been directing the group the entire time, while also starting her family, which now has three children! Therefore, the chorale is currently granting her a sabbatical. They intend to resume programming in the Fall of 2011.

The IVYC consists of members of the community. Its choristers are not only from Claremont but from all over the Inland Empire; West Covina, San Dimas, Chino, Chino Hills, La Verne, Pomona, Upland, Montclair, and Alta Loma. The IVYC includes a preparatory choir, an apprentice choir, a chamber choir, music classes for young children, and youth voice classes. Programming has included solo and joint performances between the IVYC chorales and other guest organizations. Choral membership is through an audition process. Being a non-profit organization the IVYC depends on donations and tuition. The IVYC strives to offer our programs at a very reasonable rate, but they need YOUR help. DONATIONS are tax-deductible and are always welcome. A limited number of SCHOLARSHIPS are available.
